Rob Edwards out for rest of Shrewsbury loan
Shrewsbury Town suffered a blow ahead of the visit of Leyton Orient as defender Rob Edwards was ruled out for the rest of his loan stint.
Barnsley agreed on Monday afternoon to let the 30-year-old Telford-born player to stay on at the Greenhous Meadow for another month.
But Edwards then suffered a thigh muscle injury in training the following day and Salop's medical staff estimate that he will be out for up to six weeks.
With pen having been put to paper on the loan arrangement, which includes a 24-hour recall, boss Graham Turner admits his hands are tied.
"It's just our luck at the moment. Everything was done on Monday regarding Rob's loan, but on Tuesday he tore his quad muscle.
"You can't legislate for that with an experienced player like that we could have done with him for the run in."
Charlton loanee Yado Mambo is set to replace Edwards at the heart of the Town defence for the O's clash.
The youngster had lost his place in the starting XI in recent weeks but was in impressive form in Wednesday's reserve victory over Rotherham.
"Yado has been waiting patiently and he did well in the reserve game in the week, scoring a goal. So he will come back into the side."
Turner will also consider John Taylor's claims for a return to the side after a long term groin problem.
And loan striker Chris Porter is due to train today after missing last Saturday's defeat at Walsall through injury.
