Shrewsbury Town to saviour England Under-21 visit
Shrewsbury Town manager Graham Turner says tonight's England under-21 international at the Greenhous Meadow will be a proud night for the club.
Young Lions boss Gareth Southgate brings his team to Shropshire this evening to take on San Marino in their latest UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifier (6pm).
The match is sold out and asked what it meant to the club to be hosting such an event, Turner said: "It's a prestige thing.
"The tickets are now all sold, so there's going to be a good crowd. We had the under-20's down here two seasons ago against France and I think the fact that we've got another game here indicates that the FA were more than happy with the way the operation went and how the club organised everything, the way the players were treated, the officials were treated and the good atmosphere as well.
"We've gone from under-20's now to under-21's and I think that it's a real big boost now to have a game here with the sort of quality of players that we're going to see in the England set up.
"I watched part of the England under-21s game last week against Finland. There's some very, very good internationals in that side."
