Boost for Micky Mellon as two make comebacks

Shrewsbury Town have been handed a double boost after Nathaniel Knight-Percival and James Wesolowski came through their comebacks unscathed.

The pair both played a planned 75 minutes in yesterday's 2-0 friendly win against Wigan at the Greenhous Meadow.

Both looked ready and solid on their return, and could be ready to give watching manager Micky Mellon a timely boost as Town reflect on the impending sale of Connor Goldson to Brighton for £600,000-plus.

Wesolowski stormed into an early tackle with no trepidation whatsoever, while Knight-Percival emerged from treatment following a worrying collision with Brad Bauress unscathed.

Mellon will now decide whether either will be in his plans for Saturday's trip to Oldham.

Town will go there seeking their first league win of the season at the fourth attempt.

Dominic Smith and Liam McAlinden headed the goals in either half in the behind-closed-doors game against the Latics.

Jordan Clark, playing wide right, set up both strikes from a free-kick and an interception and cross respectively.
