Town are looking to recover some pride after their 7-1 hammering at Chesterfield last week as they look to progress to the fourth round.

Boss Mellon might be expected to say the pressure is off given no one is expecting Town to upset the odds. But he is demanding a return to their previous standards.

"The pressure's on all the time – it's got to be on. Pressure's brilliant," he said. "You should expect pressure all the time because you have to win, be that Manchester United, Juventus or Shrewsbury."

Mellon wants a repeat of the heroic performances that saw Salop beat Blackburn earlier in the season and account for Leicester, Norwich and then Championship side Blackpool last term, all in the Capital One Cup.

"We were outstanding at Crystal Palace and Blackburn and we'll go there looking to represent the club in the way we've done many times and try to get into the next round."

New signings Jack Grimmer and Andy Mangan are eligible but Richie Wellens and Kyle Vassell are cup-tied.
