Town will now host Sheffield Wednesday in the fourth round - the first time the clubs will have met in 28 years.

It is the first time they will have faced Wednesday since they faced off in the League Cup in 1987.

The tie will take place over the weekend of January 30-31, with an exact time and date to be set in due course.

And manager Micky Mellon has urged his giant-killers to be more consistent and take their knockout heroics into League One.

Town have won one of their last seven league outings and lost 7-1 at Chesterfield last time out, their biggest defeat in nearly 52 years.

Mellon's side host fellow strugglers and his former club Barnsley on Saturday, in the first of three home games out of the next four.
