Micky Mellon keen to reward the fans

Micky Mellon wants to give Shrewsbury Town fans the survival they crave at 'Blue and Amber Inflatables' day tomorrow – after admitting he is humbled by their support.

Town will clinch League One safety if they beat Peterborough, while anything but victory for Blackpool at home to Wigan – which kicks off at 12.30pm – and for Doncaster at Crewe will end the hopes of either of catching Mellon's side.

Fans are being urged to bring inflatables to keep Town afloat in League One and Mellon wants to reward them.

"We haven't won enough games at home and we're looking very hard at trying to fix that," said the boss.

"It's not something we flippantly brush off. We want to be winning here for the supporters because it's a club with proud traditions and that's what we're supposed to do.

"I'm really humbled by the way they have continued to support us, I think they know how hard we're working to get the right results here."

Shrewsbury are looking to avoid a club record 13th home League defeat of the season.

"We'll look at records when I'm in my old rocking chair," said Mellon.

"At the minute it's about winning tomorrow, I don't care about anything else."

Midfielder James Wallace is set to be fit after a jarred knee kept him out of the last two games.
