Shropshire Homes will be the front of shirt sponsors of the away kit for the next two years.

Shropshire Homes managing director Howard Thorne and fellow directors Richard Bowler and Gerald Rogers have been sponsoring the club since the 1980s and supporting them even further back than that.

“Shropshire Homes have been a mainstay of sponsorship for the club for many years now, regularly sponsoring matches, advertising boards, the youth team and academy and, for the last five years the next match sign outside the ground,” said Town commercial manager Richard Hill.

“We have a very good relationship and I am thrilled that they have decided to expand their support of the club further by sponsoring the front of the away shirt.

“It is a big part of the club ethos to help promote the very best of Shropshire and we will now be doing that when we play away with the Shropshire Homes name proudly on display”.

The new away shirt will be worn by the first-team squad when they take on Cardiff City in a friendly on Tuesday (7pm). It will go on sale in the club shop before the start of the season.

Thorne added: “We first sponsored the Town back in 1986 soon after we had established Shropshire Homes. That was a match ball against Chelsea in the FA Cup.

“We have sponsored the youth team since 2000 and are really excited to now have our name on the team’s away shirts. We are looking forward to a successful season.”
