Paul Hurst was satisfied with the mature display from Niall Ennis on his Shrewsbury Town debut.

The Wolves youngster, signed on loan from Molineux last week, was handed a blue and amber bow from the off against Burton Albion, where he paired with Carlton Morris up front.

It is the 18-year-old hot-shot’s first loan spell, and while Hurst believes he will benefit from more minutes, the boss was encouraged.

“In fairness to Niall I saw some nice things from him,” admitted Hurst. “He looked quite bright and sharp but I think he’s missing minutes. He hasn’t had 90 minutes yet.

“In an ideal world I would’ve liked to have given him more but at the same time he took a bit of a knock and there were others I wanted to give minutes.

“We spoke about getting him to run the channels more, but that’s new for him, knowing how I want to play.

“He’s getting to know us and we’re getting to know him. Early signs are he looks sharp and he didn’t look like the young boy that he is.”
