Boss Paul Hurst eager for Shrewsbury Town to go on an FA Cup run
Paul Hurst is determined to go on a run in the FA Cup after being drawn at home against Aldershot Town in the first round.
Town are currently second in League One and will be the favourites against the Shots, who are eighth in the National League.
“You leave yourself open to be the victim of an upset,” said Hurst.
You always want a home game, no matter the opposition. The FA Cup itself has taken a lot of criticism but for me it’s still a massive competition that we want to do well in.
“You have to take it one game at a time and everyone’s aim here is to get to the third round – where the magic of the cup can really kick in.”
First round ties will take place on the weekend of November 3-6.
