The 21-year-old made eight appearances in all competitions for Paul Hurst's men this season, starting just twice – in the Carabao Cup at Nottingham Forest and against West Brom's youngsters i the Checkatrade Trophy.

Combative midfielder Adams also became a Gambia international while he was at Montgomery Waters Meadow, receiving his debut call-up in November.

He was one of three Canaries youngsters loaned to Town last summer, alongside Carlton Morris and Ben Godfrey, who are with Shrewsbury for the remainder of the season.

But the former non-league man failed to break in Hurst's midfield ranks, with Godfrey, Jon Nolan, Abu Ogogo and Bryn Morris impressing.

With Adams back at Norwich and Niall Ennis back with Wolves, Hurst now has four loan players in the Town squad, with new recruit Max Lowe having joined from Derby.

Five loans are permitted in a league matchday squad.
