The winger scored one of Town's goals of the season to break the deadlock in a thrilling 2-0 victory at Charlton, which made it four away wins in a row for Paul Hurst's men.

Omar Beckles' header secured the points after Shrews had seen Jon Nolan's first-half penalty saved.

Wigan, Blackburn and Rotherham also secured wins this weekend, meaning Town stay second in League One. Rodman, who turned 31 last week, insists it was time for Salop fans to 'strap themselves in'.

"It was a complete performance. It was brilliant. We haven't let up and that's down from the management at the top, they haven't allowed us to let up," said Rodman.

"It's down to everyone's strength of character in keeping our feet on the ground.

"We went 15 unbeaten and we could've easily sat back and said 'we did great'. We haven't.

"It's going to be rollercoaster. It's going to be strap yourselves in. What a time to be involved with this. This is what we wanted to be.

"We've got to enjoy it. There's no pressure on us. That's on Wigan and Blackburn."

Rodman revealed the praise given to Town by Charlton forward Josh Magennis. He added: "We were back to our best all over the pitch.

"Their number nine Magennis said to me in the 80th minute that no-one's come and done that to them all season, he said 'you boys are different class all over the pitch' and that he can see why we're up there. A big compliment."

The winger revealed it was a boost to return to Hurst's starting XI and he was glad to repay the faith shown in him by Hurst.

Hurst said the duo had shared words during the week and Rodman was delighted to respond at the first opportunity.

Rodman said: "We had a long chat in the week about a few things he wanted. I was glad to repay his faith in me.

"The gaffer can be hard on me but it's because he does expect more. If I don't give him that he gets disappointed and frustrated. It's nice because he believes in me.

"Maybe I need to take that not as a negative but as a positive. It's not easy to instantly repay that faith after a long discussion."
