Assistant Chris Doig backs Shrewsbury's Dean Henderson to reach the very top
Shrewsbury assistant Chris Doig believes 'special talent' Dean Henderson has the ability to make it to the top.
Manchester United loanee Henderson, who turned 21 this week, has the joint-highest number of clean sheets in League One with 13.
"He's talented. We found that out pretty quickly at Grimsby when he first came to us.
"You could see straight away he was a talent but he hadn't played many games. In my opinion he'll go on and play at the highest level if his mentality is right.
"Only Deano, in my opinion, is stopping him from being at the very top. I've got a good relationship with Deano, I always have.
"In my eyes he's a special talent and the future is bright for him.
"He hadn't played any games, Football League certainly, I think he'd been on loan to Stockport previously.
"He was a young kid but with exceptional talent.
"What he has got is a confidence to go along with that.
"He can wind people up at times but I just think he's a special player. As long as his mentality is right then he has a big future in the game."
