Jon Nolan hopes to play at the top with Shrewsbury Town
Midfield schemer Jon Nolan is determined to play at the highest level possible – and hopes to achieve that goal with Shrewsbury Town.
The in-demand Nolan has netted nine goals in his debut campaign with Paul Hurst’s Town and has been courted by a host of Championship clubs including Norwich, Ipswich, Sunderland and Leeds.
Nolan, who signed a three-year deal last summer and turns 26 on Sunday, said: “Obviously I’m settled. We’ve had an unbelievable season and hopefully the cherry on top is up getting promoted.”
He smiled: “I like the song. ‘I want ginger hair too’, I sing it to myself sometimes.”
“It is flattering – it’s good to get that recognition,” Nolan added on the interest shown in him.
“But it’s all rumours. You can’t do nothing about them or control them.
“We all, as players, even Doigy (Chris Doig) and the gaffer, want to go to the highest level possible.
“Hopefully that can be with Shrewsbury this season.”
