Shrewsbury boss Paul Hurst receives League One manager of the season award
Yesterday was quite the day for Shrewsbury Town boss Paul Hurst – there was even silverware before kick-off in the stunning 1-0 win over Charlton.
The Town chief was presented with his League One manager of the season trophy – a title decided by votes from all 72 Football League bosses – at Montgomery Waters Meadow.
Hurst's men would finish the night having booked a second visit to Wembley in an extraordinary campaign after a 1-0 home success over Charlton, which helped them to a 2-0 aggregate victory.
The win means Hurst could be set for a date against his former side Rotherham for a place in the Championship. The Millers will tussle with Scunthorpe in Wednesday's second-leg with the score locked at 2-2.
Hurst, defender Omar Beckles and midfielder Jon Nolan were recognised in the League One awards this season. The playing duo were included in the League One team of the season.
