With Hurst heading to the Championship joining Ipswich Town, Brian Caldwell is left with a task of replacing a manager who turned League One relegation favourites into play-off finalists.

But who have the bookmakers got in the running for the job?

David Hopkin leads the race at 7/4.

Already mentioned by Caldwell before Hurst's exit was confirmed, Hopkin has done a brilliant job leading Livingston to double promotion.

"I'm open to a number of number of options just now. David's done well at Livingston on a very limited budget. So, from that point of view, yes, that's of interest to me." Caldwell said of the former Leeds midfielder.

He's also been linked with a move to St Mirren, who are seeking a replacement for Jack Ross - who joined Sunderland.

Meanwhile, ex-Carlisle boss Keith Curle is joint second favourite with Uwe Rosler, who was sacked from Fleetwood Town in January, but also had spells at Leeds, Wigan and Brentford in England.

Stuart McCall, Ian Holloway and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink are also in the running - with all three currently out of work.

Other names also mentioned on the betting market include former Birmingham City boss Lee Clark, Brian McDermott, Robbie Neilson and Gary Caldwell - whilst Steve Cotterill could also be a man of interest.
