The new Town manager is looking to boost his ranks and the club have been working to bring in fresh faces.

Askey is also awaiting replies from three out-of-contract players who have been offered new deals.

Skipper Abu Ogogo, winger Alex Rodman and forward Lenell John-Lewis are currently mulling over fresh terms.

Arthur Gnahoua triggered an option clause in his contract meaning he will remain at Montgomery Waters Meadow next season.

“As we have said before it’s the most important time and we are trying our hardest to get the squad together,” said Askey.

“If the players sign who we have offered contracts to then we have pretty much got our squad together. It’s just a matter of waiting now and seeing if they say yes to the offers.

“If they do, then I’ll be pleased with the players we’ve signed.”
