Shrewsbury Town's Bryn Morris joins Wycombe on loan
Shrewsbury Town boss John Askey insists the door is not closed on Bryn Morris after the midfielder's loan move to League One rivals Wycombe Wanderers.
Morris, who made 30 appearances for Salop last season, has joined the Chairboys until January.
On why he has been sent out, Askey said: "Just to get him games, really.
"We've brought in one or two midfield players and it's as simple as that – he needs games.
"He didn't have as many games as he would've liked last year and he didn't want to be in the same position.
"It was straightforward. Bryn is a good lad and has trained really hard over pre-season and he didn't want to let that go to waste.
"It gives me a chance to have a look at him in the same league too.
"He's got a lot of ability. It wouldn't surprise me if he goes there and does well.
"Hopefully that'll be the case, as long as it's not to the detriment of Shrewsbury.
"It was only sensible to get him out."
And on if he could come back and feature for Town, Askey said: "You're always looking for people who are doing well.
"If he does well, hopefully we can get him back in and he can improve us."
Morris slipped down the midfield pecking order after the signings of Charlie Colkett, Josh Laurent, Doug Loft and Anthony Grant.
Askey wants one more too. When asked if a deal is close, he added: "We think we are and hopefully that'll be the case."
