The 25-year-old became Town's first signing of transfer deadline day after inking a three-year deal at the club for an undisclosed fee.

He reunites with boss John Askey, having spent a spell at Macclesfield Town.

"I’m delighted." he said.

"There has been speculation for some time, but I’m delighted to be here and can’t wait to get stuck in and hopefully start performing on the pitch."

"I have stayed professional and just cracked on with things. It came about at the start of pre-season and now we are getting towards the second game. It has been difficult, but I’m glad it’s over the line.

“It was a great season for us last season. It wasn’t an easy decision, but it’s one I made and I’m more than happy with.

“I have worked with the gaffer before, I am looking forward to working with him again."

Following his move from Tranmere, Norburn admits that Salop's performances last season helped convince him to make the move to Shropshire.

"I like what they’re trying to do here. They finished third last season, so it’s a great place to come, a great place to start working and I can’t wait to crack on." he said.

“I feel like I have worked hard to get where I am in the last few years. I dropped down the leagues but I’m ready to climb back up them.

“I like to get on the ball, dictate play and make things happen.

“I don’t want to put too much pressure on my self, but I’m ready to go out there to perform and give everything."

Norburn could feature this weekend as Shrewsbury Town take on Charlton at The Valley having lost their home opener against Bradford City last weekend.
