Shrewsbury boss John Askey dealt triple blow ahead of Blackpool visit
Shrewsbury boss John Askey has been dealt a blow ahead of Saturday's visit of Blackpool with three players doubtful through injury.
Defender James Bolton, midfielder Ollie Norburn and forward Aaron Amadi-Holloway have all been labelled as doubts for Saturday's Montgomery Waters Meadow clash.
Right-back Bolton and new signing Norburn both suffered dead legs during Tuesday's Carabao Cup reverse against Burton. Norburn limped off injured for the second time in his two Shrewsbury outings so far.
Amadi-Holloway is struggling with a groin injury sustained at Charlton last weekend.
"James is struggling, Ollie Norburn is struggling, they'll be a doubt," said Askey.
"Obviously Aaron hasn't trained properly yet. One or two injuries but we've got more than enough to cover it.
"I'm hoping he'll be back within the next few days. It's not going to be a long-term thing."
Askey, whose side have lost three games from three so far this season, is confident his squad has enough cover to cope with the blows.
Right-back Luke Hendrie is yet to be involved in a competitive matchday squad under Askey but could get the chance to play in Bolton's place. The boss also sees Omar Beckles as an option on the right side of defence.
Norburn is seen as Askey's deep-lying midfield player and fellow defensive-minded midfielder Anthony Grant is not yet up to speed to play from the off.
Askey added: "We've obviously got Luke Hendrie who can play there, we've got Omar who can play there as well. We've still got options if we need to."
