Town defender Zak Jules joins Barnet on loan
Out-of-favour Shrewsbury defender Zak Jules has joined National League side Barnet on loan.
Jules, who joined Town in the summer of 2017 from Reading, will be with the Bees until December 22 and could make his debut against AFC Fylde on Saturday.
He went on loan last season to Port Vale and Chesterfield in League Two, making a combined eight appearances.
But despite figuring for Town in pre-season, he was unable to force his way into John Askey's plans.
Jules said "I'm delighted to get it over the line and join a big club, especially in this division. I don't feel that this club should be down here, so the targets and standards are quite high by the manager.
"John (Still) has got a big reputation of getting clubs out of this division and having clubs do really well in the division above, so I am looking forward to being a part of that and hopefully the loan spell is a real success.
"I'm still young, I'm 21 and I have had a full pre-season. It's now about kicking on and progressing.
"It's been a quick turnaround, but it's been made clear to me that I was wanted by him, and that's something any player would want to hear. You want to be somewhere that you're wanted and feel like you're valued.
"I feel like I should get that here and hopefully I can repay that by putting in some good shifts and good performances."
