The 18-year-old Cyprus youth international netted a sensational effort after picking the ball up in his own half on Tuesday for the non-league Yeltz.

Shelis, playing at right-back as John Hill's Halesowen earned a 3-0 win over Wolves in the Birmingham Senior Cup, scored the second goal of the game.

There was another Shrewsbury prodigy on display as goalkeeper Cameron Gregory, also 18, kept a clean sheet after joining The Grove club on an emergency loan.

Watch the goal six minutes in on the video below thanks to footage from Yeltz TV.

But Shelis, who followed former boss Paul Hurst from Grimsby, netted a goal to remember after a pacy run and a couple of clever exchanges with team-mates.

The defender, who earned rave reviews from Town's previous management team, played a one-two near the halfway line before spreading the ball out to the left flank and continuing his run into the box.

The ball found its way back to the Salop youngster on the penalty spot and he made no mistake with an unerring finish.

Shelis signed a first professional deal a year ago yesterday, still has another 12 months to run on those term.

He has recently captained the Cyprus under-18s team but looks to have played his final game for the Yeltz as he jets off for a friendly double-header against Bulgaria. He has played three times for his loan side.

Shelis made his Town debut last season and two Checkatrade Trophy appearances in total, but has yet to feature in John Askey's matchday squad this season.
