FA Cup fourth round: Shrewsbury or Stoke to face Wolves
Sam Ricketts and Dave Edwards could have an early reunion with Wolves as the two clubs were drawn together in the FA Cup fourth round.
Salop still have the tough task of winning at the Bet365 stadium first following their 1-1 draw with Stoke at the weekend.
But a mouthwatering game at the Montgomery Waters Meadow against Nuno Espirito Santo’s Premier League high-flyers would be the perfect reward.
“I think it’s a great draw, a local derby against a Premier League side at home is what the FA Cup is all about,” Ricketss told the club website.
“But before we can even start to think about that we have some really important games and a huge task to go and beat Stoke at their own ground.
“We will, of course, give it our best shot when the time comes and hopefully then we can start to think about the next round.”
The draw took place live on BBC One and was conducted by former Wolves duo Carl Ikeme and Robbie Keane.
The fourth round is scheduled to take place between Friday, January 25 and Monday, January 28.
Shrewsbury’s third-round replay at the Potters is scheduled for Tuesday, January 15.
Winning clubs will receive £180,000 after the FA doubled the prize fund at the beginning of the season.
