Shrewsbury v Wolves: FA Cup ticket details confirmed
Ticket details have been announced for Shrewsbury Town's eagerly-anticipated FA Cup fourth-round clash with Wolves.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are heading to Montgomery Waters Meadow on Saturday, January 26 (3pm) after Town pulled off a remarkable turnaround to beat Stoke in a third-round replay on Tuesday night, coming from 2-0 down to prevail 3-2 at the Bet365 Stadium.
The clash will be particularly special for Salop midfielder Dave Edwards. He spent the best part of a decade with Wolves, winning Championship and League One titles.
He returned to boyhood club Town earlier this month. Salop boss Sam Ricketts also played for Wolves, leading them to League One glory in the 2013/14 season.
Town chief executive Brian Caldwell says Wolves wanted the tie to be on the Friday night though.
"Wolves had asked us to move it to Friday night as they have a game on Tuesday night, we also travel to Bradford on the Tuesday so on a footballing level it would have made sense to move it," said Caldwell.
“We also have to take the fans into consideration with people wanting to travel from all over to come to the game. To have it on the Saturday with a 3pm kick-off makes perfect sense and we’ve spoken to Wolves and they are very understanding.”
Wolves have been allocated 1,591 tickets for the game and they are going on sale to Gold Away Season Ticket Holders on Thursday morning.
Caldwell added on Town tickets: "We have to get the tickets out as soon as possible as we haven’t got a lot of time to sell them.
“They will be on sale to season tickets holders first, then to fans with 10+ loyalty points and then 1-9 loyalty points and I’m sure there will a great demand for tickets."
Normal matchday prices will apply, meaning that adult tickets cost from £20.
