Shrewsbury Town defender Ryan Sears called up to Wales under-21 squad
Shrewsbury Town defender Ryan Sears has been called up to a Wales under-21 training camp later this month.
The 20-year-old, from Newtown, has emerged as one of Salop's brightest youth prospects this season after breaking into Sam Ricketts' first-team squad.
He has made eight appearances for Town's first team this term, three in League One, four in the Checkatrade Trophy – including his first Town goal at Port Vale – and a memorable and impressive appearance from the bench at Wolves in the FA Cup in front of almost 30,000 fans.
Sears, who can operate at full-back but is a centre-half by trade, has had loan spells at both Newtown and AFC Telford United. He was 2017/18 players' player of the season for the Robins. He first signed professional terms with Town in 2017.
The training camp is held in Monmouthshire between March 19 - 22. Rob Page's under-21 side will not play a fixture during that period.
