Shrewsbury's Dave Edwards a doubt for the rest of the season
Dave Edwards could miss the rest of the season with an ankle injury, it has been revealed.
Manager Sam Ricketts has already ruled the midfielder out of the game at Gillingham with the club awaiting further scan results.
The Wales international has only managed six appearances since his January switch from Reading due to injury and suspension.
"Dave Edwards unfortunately got injured in training, he'll be out certainly for the weekend," said Ricketts.
"He's getting a scan and that may be him for a couple of weeks. You don't know how long it'll take to recover, it could be the season for him.
"The end of the season is three or four weeks away so it doesn't need a big injury to be the end of the season.
"It's a real shame, he was training on a more regular basis, getting into shape, he might be back before – if he is then great. If not it's ready for other players to step into the fold."
