Hart, who began his career with Liverpool, joins on loan until the end of the season.

The 23-year-old becomes Sam Ricketts’ first signing of the January transfer window and is eligible to play at Fleetwood on Saturday.

“Sam is a young lad who Blackburn signed a few years ago,” said Ricketts. “He went out on loan to Southend last year.

“He’s a left-sided player who is very athletic, a good size and has a good left foot. He’s young and has a bright future in the game. He is a great lad and is coming into a good group of players.

“He will add quality to that and add to the environment. He’s a good character and the lads will welcome him. With Ryan getting called back, it was important to get someone in quickly.

“We wanted to get someone in quickly and we are delighted to have done so with someone of Sam’s quality. He is eager to improve which is really good. He’s been out and played for Southend last year and did very, very well.”

Wolves recalled 19-year-old Giles on Friday morning with Ruben Vinagre ruled out with a hamstring injury.

Giles is expected to start on Wolves' bench for Saturday's Premier League clash at Southampton.
