Dave Edwards: Matt Taylor can shine at Shrewsbury
Club hero Dave Edwards reckons Matt Taylor now has the platform to prove himself in management at Shrewsbury Town.
Taylor was named Steve Cotterill’s successor last week and Edwards says he is “quietly excited” by his appointment.
The 41-year-old’s only previous experience in senior management was eight months in charge of Walsall but writing in today’s Shropshire Star, former midfielder Edwards believes he will get all the support he needs to succeed at Croud Meadow.
Taylor is the first appointment by new director of football Micky Moore and Edwards wrote: “Shrewsbury is an excellent opportunity for him (Taylor) to build his reputation as a first-team manager.
