Ollie Westbury analysis: Shrewsbury find a way to win
Sometimes it does not matter how you play, you just need to get over the line and get three points.
On Saturday afternoon at Fleetwood, this was certainly one of those days for Matt Taylor’s Shrewsbury Town.
Over the course of 90 minutes, Shrews were not overly convincing against a team who spent most of the game playing with 10 men.
But sometimes it does not matter how you win, it just matters that you do, and Salop left Highbury Stadium with an impressive third League One victory of the season from their opening five games.
There have been moments in games so far this year where Salop have performed well, been on the front foot and not got their rewards for that.
Ultimately, the only thing that counts for anything is when the referee blows his full-time whistle and the final score is confirmed.
Taylor was aware his side did not use the ball well enough on the Lancashire coast but said ‘they found a way to win’ and teams that can do that are normally successful.
