Wigan v Shrewsbury preview: Town aim to bounce back after midweek frustration
Shrewsbury Town will look to put the frustrations of Tuesday night behind them when they make their way to Wigan this weekend.
The defeat at Barnsley felt as if everything was against Matt Taylor’s side so they will want to get back on track as their performances and results have been good overall of late.
There is still some work to do in the final third. They have not scored enough goals in their opening 13 games. Only two sides have failed to reach double figures in the league so far this season – Town are one of them, the other being Cheltenham – and their struggles in front of goal have been well documented.
But performance-wise Shrews have been good. They kept the ball well against the Tykes and the 3-0 scoreline did flatter the hosts.
Boss Taylor is pleased with the way his side have performed in possession and speaking ahead of the clash against Wigan he said he wants to see his side keep this up.
He said: “It’s something which we have to at least perform to the level we did on Tuesday. If we do that and we keep control of the ball more (we have a good chance).
