New CEO Liam Dooley reveals first Shrewsbury Town priority
Ensuring Shrewsbury Town is a sustainable football club is the first priority for new chief executive Liam Dooley.
The recently-appointed CEO sat down with the Shropshire Star and Shrews Views podcast to discuss a host of issues at the Croud Meadow.
They included the financial stability of the club after chairman Roland Wycherley revealed earlier this year that spending had ‘greatly exceeded income and budgets.’
And when asked about the severity of the club’s financial problems Dooley said the aim is to make it sustainable for years to come.
“Financial stability is a key part,” the former Sheffield Wednesday chief operating officer said.
“It is something if you take what we did at Wednesday, away from the pitch, we increased revenue and we cut costs and that is something that we want to do here.
“Day to day at the moment it is a challenge, but we are not in any immediate risk or anything like that.
