Dave Edwards: Shrewsbury showed plenty of key ingredient in comeback win
It was a bit of a Jekyll and Hyde performance from Shrewsbury Town on Saturday.
At this point, all that really matters is the result and they got that in dramatic late fashion.
It was a bit of a nothing performance for the majority of that game – they would have been so disappointed with the start they made.
Matt Taylor came out and echoed that by admitting the first two goals were really poor from a defensive point of view.
A long clearance for the first one and a real mix-up defensively for the second one, to be 2-0 down after 15 minutes is disastrous, especially with the way the football club is at the moment and the way the team are playing.
I feel what they did show after that was a lot of resilience because there were a lot of things going against them, and they did ride their luck at times. There were times when Reading could have really gone and put the game to bed, and they will be disappointed with the way they conceded the first goal.
It was a really clever finish from Tom Bayliss, who had a decent game himself, and it was a good goal with the timing being really important too.
