The 22-year-old Salop academy graduate, who played 17 times in the first team at the Croud Meadow, has made the step back up to sign for League Two side Accrington Stanley.
The Wales born forward spent a number of years in Salop's academy, before being released in 2023.
He had already enjoyed two spells on loan with National League North side Chester, went on to join the Seals on a permanent deal.
And after 26 goals in 79 games, 14 of those coming this season, he has moved to Stanley for an undisclosed fee.
Caton, who has penned a two-and-a-half year deal, said: "I have scored 14 goals so far this season. I work hard, I like to get in the box, I am good in the air, and try and give 100 per cent every week.
"Hopefully, we have got a good second half of the season to come."
