Scores to be settled at Airbus for TNS

The New Saints have a score to settle when they visit one of their chief rivals Airbus UK in tomorrow's televised Welsh Premier League clash.

The Wingmakers were the only side to defeat the Saints in last season's historic treble-winning campaign, running out 1-0 winners at the Hollingsworth Group Stadium.

So often, they have proved troublesome opponents for the defending champions, having also drawn 1-1 at Park Hall last season.

But the Saints will be feeling a lot better with life after returning to winning ways with a 3-1 home success against Port Talbot last week, a victory that lifted them to second in the table, just one point behind Newtown.

And TNS boss Craig Harrison believes that result will provide the perfect platform as his side look to set the record straight against the Wingmakers.

Harrison said: "They're always tough games against Airbus, and it will be no different tomorrow.

"But I think in the last 12 league games they've only beaten us twice so, although they're close games, they've not got a great record against us.

"After two draws it was important for us to get back to winning ways against Port Talbot, and we'll be going all out for another win tomorrow.

"We're still unbeaten, but we set ourselves high standards and we're now right up there again.

"Historically, we have tended to start slowly. In my first full season as manager we had seven points after four games and the following season we had eight."

Harrison is again weighing up his options, with new midfielder Danny Gosset in contention along with right back Simon Spender, who has been training this week following an ankle problem.

The clash is being screened live on S4C's football programme Sgorio, with a 5.15pm kick-off.
