The Saints opened up a four-goal interval lead, with lively winger Quigley leading the hosts a merry dance.

Defender Kai Edwards headed the first for the defending champions after just three minutes, before Quigley opened his account in the 16th minute.

The visitors continued to dominate, with Jamie Mullan making it 3-0 midway through the first half when netting from a tight angle.

The pacey Quigley got his second just past the half-hour with a superb curling strike into the top corner.

TNS continued in similar vein after the break, left-back Chris Marriott netting No.5 with a deflected free-kick on 63 minutes.

Quigley then completed his hat-trick from the penalty spot four minutes later after Edwards had been fouled.

Carmarthen's late consolation – a Mark Jones header – ended a club record stretch of 454 minutes without a goal.
