In a statement issued by the Welsh club, they confirmed that Harrison is firmly focused on continuing his work with the Dafabet Welsh champions.

The statement reads: "The New Saints of Oswestry Town can categorically deny that there has been no official approach from Shrewsbury Town regarding our manager Craig Harrison."

New Saints chairman Mike Harris also confirmed that there is no weight in the rumours linking Harrison with the Salop job, which is expected to be filled ahead of their game against Northampton.

"It is with no great surprise that our manager is being linked with vacant managerial jobs as Craig has been extremely successful in his five-year tenure. Should an approach ever be made to the club, the matters would be dealt with internally, as not to distract our club's extremely ambitious desire for Champions League football."

The Saints can now look forward to their next game against Newtown, before their Nathaniel MG Cup game against Bangor City.
