And they also face a third trip north of the border having been drawn against St Mirren in the last four of the IRN-BRU Scottish Challenge Cup.

The Welsh Premier leaders have dominated the recent domestic scene with back-to-back trebles, but face a tricky task this evening against a well-organised Gap side.

But they go into the tie in high spirits after reaching the Scottish Challenge Cup semi-finals with a tremendous 3-0 victory at rain-drenched Livingston to make it 18 straight wins in all competitions.

"We'll enjoy the win, but make sure we are right on it again tonight as we want to win every cup we're in," said boss Craig Harrison, who is expected to rotate his squad this evening.

"It's a tough game, but there is a lot of belief in the side as we showed in the win at Livingston, which was one of the most professional performances since I've been with the club.

"They were very physical and direct, which is a bit different for us, but the players were fantastic. We more than matched them, were aggressive, were on the front foot and showed good fitness. Every player was outstanding.

"We should be very proud of getting to the semi-final of a cup competition in a different country."

The Saints now turn their thoughts to the Nathaniel Cup which they have lifted for the past two seasons. In the final, tonight's winners will take on Barry Town.

Meanwhile, it will be the battle of the Saints over the border as TNS head north yet again in the Scottish Challenge Cup, this time to face St Mirren.

They set up the tie with wins in the earlier rounds at Forfar Athletic (3-1) and Livingston (3-0).

St Mirren have suffered a tough start to their campaign, and are currently bottom of the Ladbrokes Scottish Championship.

In the other semi-final, Queen of the South entertain fellow Championship side Dundee United. The ties will be played on the weekend of February 18/19, 2017.
