The New Saints looking to maintain league form against Rhyl

High-flying The New Saints look to maintain their tight grip on the Welsh Premier League title race when they visit struggling Rhyl tonight.

The runaway leaders are clear favourites to return from the North Wales coast with the points as they bid to extend a record breaking 17-match winning run in the league, and 23 games in all competitions.

They walloped Rhyl 10-0 at home earlier in the season, but boss Craig Harrison anticipates a sterner test as the Lilywhites look to put the record straight.

"It's a tough week for us," said Harrison. "We've just had a hard game against Cardiff Met, now face Rhyl on Wednesday and go to Gap Connah's Quay on Saturday.

"If we still have a 100 per cent at the end of the week, then I will be more than happy.

"Rhyl won't be easy. They have improved since we played them earlier in the season and have got some good young players and a good manager."

The Seasiders, however, will have two players suspended – Rob Hughes and Zyaac Edwards – who both saw red in their side's feisty 3-1 loss to Newtown last weekend.

The Saints, by contrast, are getting close to full strength and welcomed back winger Adrian Cieslewicz who scored on his return to action from a head injury in the 3-1 victory over Cardiff Met.
