The New Saints can win title without playing
The New Saints will watch on with interest tonight when they could be crowned Welsh Premier League champions without kicking a ball.
Although still needing a point to make mathematically sure of a seventh consecutive title – and 12th in all – the Saints are effectively champions courtesy of a vastly superior goal difference of 46.
Lying 15 points clear with five games remaining, they could be confirmed league winners if Bala Town fail to defeat Connah’s Quay Nomads tonight.
If the Lakesiders do prevail, then TNS will hope to finish the job at home to Cefn Druids on Sunday (2pm).
