Roger Johnson today insisted he won't let Wolves down after declaring it a "great honour" to be club captain.
The £4.5m defender will officially lead the team out for the first time in Saturday's friendly against Real Zaragoza at Molineux after replacing Karl Henry as skipper.
And the 28-year-old immediately expressed his gratitude for receiving the chance to lead the team out. "It's amazing, to be honest," said Johnson. "I had it at Wycombe before and a spell at Cardiff but to be made captain here after only being here a short while is unbelievable.
"It's a great honour and I'm over the moon.
"I've always been a vocal player – that's just how I am – and the gaffer has clearly seen something which he likes."
