David Davis this afternoon penned a new three-year contract at Wolves as their post-relegation rebuilding continued.

The midfielder has impressed under boss Terry Connor since he replaced Mick McCarthy in February and has been rewarded with a new deal.

Homegrown youngster Davis made his Premier League debut in the 2-0 defeat to Blackburn at Molineux last month and has made six appearances since.

The 21-year-old also spent time on loan at Shrewsbury last season before spells at Inverness and Chesterfield this season.

And Davis admitted he was delighted to put pen to paper.

"I have been learning the trade whilst I've been out on loan and now I'm back here playing in the best league in the world. It's a big achievement for me.

"Obviously, us getting relegated has been a bitter disappointment but I think that we can bounce back and I would like to play my part in that objective."

"This new contract really is the icing on the cake for me.

"It's secured my future at my club Wolves, the club I want to play for. It really is a dream come true."
