Kevin Doyle aims to shoot Wolves into top six

Doyle was man of the match as Wolves hung on to beat Leicester 2-1 yesterday.

Wolves' second win of the season saw them leap from second bottom to 10th before they face trips to struggling Ipswich on Wednesday and rock-bottom Peterborough on Saturday.

"It's still early in the season but it got us up into the top half of the table and it meant we're looking forward to the two away games," said Doyle.

"We could be sitting very nicely at the end of this week and we said that before the Leicester game.

"We're looking to make sure we're in the top five or six all season.

"To be in that position and have that winning feeling beats struggling in the bottom three of the Premier League."

Wolves were cruising at 2-0 after Sylvan Ebanks-Blake's third of the season and Leicester old-boy Richard Stearman struck in the first 20 minutes.

But Paul Konchesky's 35-yard goal of the season contender triggered a late siege and they were left hanging on at the end.

Stale Solbakken's side are unbeaten in four at Molineux this term and Doyle stressed the players must keep the winning habit.

"We have to keep that winning feeling and get used to it again," he said.

"We were comfortable but we got very nervous and made it very difficult for ourselves in the last 20 minutes.

"I'm sure the fans and players were jittery because we've been beaten a lot at home and it's been difficult for us in the last few years to realise we can win every week.

"We did well to hold on because we conceded in the last minute against Derby and we were aware of that so there were some nerves.

"But we held on and overall, we deserved the win. We have to carry it on."
