Nouha Dicko back on familiar ground as Wolves take on Oldham
Nouha Dicko returns to the north west tonight anxious to put down some roots – with Wolves.
The 21-year-old travels to Oldham with his new team-mates but back in a familiar area after two-and-a-half years at Wigan, during which time he spent two spells on loan at Blackpool.
And the pacy frontman is keen to continue where he left off after marking his debut for Wolves following his £300,000 permanent arrival with a goal in Saturday's 3-1 win against Bristol City.
"I haven't played at Oldham before but the county is a good area for me so hopefully it will be a good game for me and for us," said Dicko, who also had temporary spells at Wolves and Rotherham.
"I've been on loan four times and I've played with some good players and I'm pleased with the different experiences.
"But now I'm here to stay and I want to be part of the team and achieve promotion."
Dicko is eager for some continuity in his career after being recalled from his prolific stint at Rotherham by Wigan for one substitute's appearance before Wolves snapped him up ahead of five other clubs.
"It wasn't easy because I wasn't playing for Wigan for four months and then Rotherham wanted me to play for them," he said.
"So I took my chance and went there, then I got called back but I wasn't told why – I was wondering why because they wanted to sell me. In the end I tried to think positively because I'm here now and I'm happy."
At least he used his stint at the New York Stadium positively after getting his introduction to League One.
And it proved to be an enjoyable spell too, after bagging six goals in as many games – including two in the 3-3 draw against Wolves four days before Christmas.
"I managed to get my form back at Rotherham," he said.
"The only thing I want to do is score goals and that's why I signed here."
