Wolves' Kevin McDonald nominated for League One player of the year award
Wolves midfielder Kevin McDonald has been shortlisted for the League One player of the year award.
Scottish midfielder McDonald has played a vital role in Wolves' surge to the top of the League One table and was signed in August 2013 when Wolves were starting their Sky Bet League 1 campaign.
McDonald isn't renowned for his goalscoring but in the games he has found the net, Wolves have not lost.
The Sky Bet Player of the Year awards have been voted for by managers of the clubs in each division. Each manager was asked to list their top five players from this season in order, with the scores added up to get a shortlist and an overall winner.
The nominees for this year's award all line-up in the middle of the park - Brentford's Adam Forshaw, Kevin McDonald of Wolverhampton Wanderers, and Swindon Town's Alex Pritchard.
The Sky Bet League 1 Player of the Year will be announced at The Football League Awards 2014, which takes place this Sunday, 16th March, at The Brewery, London.
