Wolves captain Danny Batth insists he and his team-mates are leaving no stone unturned as they bid to salvage their season.

The skipper insists confidence in the squad isn't a problem and that they maintain their pride and passion in playing for the club.

Wolves crashed to a 2-1 home defeat to Preston at Molineux as they continue to be marooned in mid-table.

Batth said the players wouldn't be feeling sorry for themselves and added: "We 1,000 per cent care as much as the fans.

"The lads are out there working hard in training, leaving no stone unturned, making sure we're as well drilled as we can be.

"It's a hard-working group. We're not playing without the passion or desire that the fans warrant.

"I appreciate the fans' concerns. Us on the pitch have to take responsibility and make sure we give them something to be proud of."

Kenny Jackett's team have won just four matches at Molineux this season.

But Batth doesn't believe their struggles, which home and away have seen them go winless in five games, are down to a lack of confidence.

He added: "I don't think you've seen a team lacking confidence.

"We've struggled at times at Molineux this season but we'll work on that, we've got two away games next and we hope to take points from both of those games.

"We feel we need to make more of an impact at home and impose ourselves more.

"We're not playing the best football, it's been a very tricky season for a lot of reasons but we maintain our pride and passion on behalf of Wolves.

"I think when we've found some rhythm and consistency we've lost a key player or two, there's been a lot of transition in terms of players' understanding between each other.

"The lads in the dressing room are a very close group, we try not to take too much notice of what goes on off the pitch."
