Steve Bull: Wolves strikers are feeding on scraps

Another Wolves game at Molineux and another nil-nil...it certainly wasn't the best game I've ever seen.

You have to take the positives out of it – another clean sheet and a six-game unbeaten run.

But we want excitement and goals and we haven't had a lot of that this season.

The most worrying aspect is that Wolves are barely creating any chances.

Kenny Jackett has been saying we'll aim for a clean sheet and then take it from there – but the problem is we're not taking from there.

There's definitely a lack of striking power at the moment, and a lack of creativity.

Adam Le Fondre, Bjorn Sigurdarson and Joe Mason are all going through a goal drought but I'm not laying the blame with the strikers – for me it's not their fault.

It's not exactly as if they're missing a hatful of chances every game.

They're all individually very good goalscorers and given the right set-up would score goals.

Playing one up front has been an issue – they're running their socks off working the channels and then there's no chances being created for them.

That's what happened with Benik Afobe and he eventually got fed up.

Kenny says he knows what's needed in the summer in terms of bringing players in and for me he should be looking at midfielders and strikers.

We need an Alex Rae or Colin Cameron type in there to win the ball and get the fans going.

Conor Coady looked like he might be that player. He got some great tackles in at the start of the season and I thought, 'Eh up, we've got a Kevin Muscat on our hands here'.

But he hasn't done that of late.

Kenny says he doesn't know his budget yet but I think Wolves can still be lining up their targets and then come the summer he'll know how much he can pay for them.

They should take advantage of a head start now, knowing what division they're going to be in, and start putting together a squad good enough to challenge for promotion.

It's another tough game at Hull City tomorrow, the two gold and black sides and hopefully the Wolves head comes out on top. Extending the unbeaten run would be nice as we look to end the season with a few wins.
