Steve Daley calls for Wolves to spend
Wolves are facing a 'massive few weeks' of recruitment according to fans' favourite Steve Daley.
The ex-midfielder, who broke the English transfer record when Wolves sold him to Manchester City for £1.4m in 1979, has faith in the ability of boss Kenny Jackett to get the club into the top tier.
But Daley thinks the squad is in desperate need of several new players if it is going to mount a serious challenge for promotion next season.
He said: "This is a massive few weeks in terms of bringing players in.
"Wolves is a huge club with a great following and because of the success from years and years ago the fans feel they should be up there.
"If Kenny is given what he wants then he can get them there, he knows football inside-out. He has done it all in coaching from reserves right through to first-team.
"He knows what he is doing and he has shown that in the last three seasons.
"But they do need quite a lot adding to the team if they are going to challenge this season."
Daley reckons a push for the Premier League would be much more easier if the uncertainty at the top of the club was sorted out.
Owner Steve Morgan put Wolves up for sale over a year ago but remains at the club, despite chief executive Jez Moxey claiming last month there had been 'many expressions' of interest and potential owners had visited Molineux.
Daley, who spent eight years at Wolves in the 70s after arriving as an apprentice, would like any new owner to be in place by the time the season starts in August.
He said: "From the outside looking in it is troubling, it feels like the club are in limbo.
"Ideally, you would want to be going into the new season with everything sorted with regards to the ownership but it feels like things are very much up in the air.
"We don't know whether someone might be coming in to buy it, or who will be funding any signings. You could really do with everything being sorted out."
