The 54-year-old has been out of a job since leaving Molineux following the Fosun summer takeover, but he could be set for a quick return to the Championship with the Yorkshire club.
Jackett is as short as 2/9 to take the job on a permanent basis, with ex-Coventry boss Tony Mowbray 6/1 and former Leeds chied Steve Evans at 8/1.
Jackett had been linked with the vacancy at Shrewsbury, but it is believed the club have moved onto other targets in a bid to allay relegation fears.
