Paul Lambert hailed Wolves' 3-1 win at Barnsley as just as impressive as their FA Cup heroics.

Two goals from David Edwards – who took his tally to a joint-career best nine for the season – and another from the outstanding Kortney Hause gave Wolves all three points in an entertaining encounter at Oakwell.

Barnsley played an hour with 10 men and Tykes boss Paul Heckingbottom was sent to the stands, while Wolves were also awarded what looked a clear penalty only for the referee to change his mind.

Connor Ronan also hit a post – and set up Wolves' first two goals on his second start for the club.

A beaming Lambert, who made six changes to his XI, said: "It was fantastic. This was arguably tougher than the Liverpool game because of the euphoria and the emotion, the adrenalin.

"I knew I had to change it. Coming here was a really difficult place to come.

"To do what we've done with three youngsters in the team, I left out Costa, Dicko, Weimann, Stearman, Evans and Saville.

"But I always say I've got great faith in my players. I knew I had to change the front lads as they're the catalyst for the pressing.

"What we did on Saturday, it's not now until you sit back and analyse it, it's unbelievable what we did at Liverpool.

"It's going pretty decent at the minute! But I'm only a small part of it. The supporters and the players are the ones driving it."
