Kortney Hause has 'manned up' says Wolves boss

'Manned up' Kortney Hause has set an example to the dropped Dominic Iorfa, Wolves boss Paul Lambert believes.

Hause has started Wolves' last five games and put in a string of impressive performances after being dropped last month for not being in a fit enough state to train.

Lambert was full of praise for Hause – who has kept experienced pros Mike Williamson and Richard Stearman out the side – saying he has accepted responsibility.

And the head coach called for Iorfa, who has only started two league games since Wolves last faced today's opponents Cardiff back in December, to follow the lead set by his good friend Hause.

"If there's one lad for Dom to look at as a player who's gone out and come back in, he can look at one of his mates.

"Kortney's been very good and is getting better. He's only 21, physically he's been strong and his general game has been excellent.

"I said at the time (of Hause being disciplined) I'd draw a line under it and hold no grudges. He's manned up to it. He's not taken it like a young kid and thrown his toys out the pram, he's manned up and accepted the responsibility."

Iorfa, who like Hause is 21, was also dropped from the latest England Under-21 squad, summing up a poor season by his previous high standards when he showed form that led to him being linked with big-money Premier League moves.

Lambert, though, sees big potential in the youngster.

"Dom's just got to fight to get back in the team," he added.

"If there's competition, you try to get in, and then you do your utmost to stay in.

"As an athlete he's exceptional. He's only a young kid, he'll make mistakes, which will start to come out of his game when he gets older. I absolutely expect Dom to push. Once he's in it's up to himself to stay in."
