Carl Ikeme a big doubt for Brighton but news brighter on Helder Costa
Wolves goalkeeper Carl Ikeme looks set to miss Friday's game against table-toppers Brighton as his injury woes continue.Ikeme has sat out the last three games with a hamstring injury he picked up while on international duty with Nigeria.
And it's unlikely he'll recover in time for the visit of the Seagulls.
Record signing Helder Costa, though, has a much better chance of featuring.
The £13million winger limped out of the pre-match warm up ahead of Wolves' 1-0 victory over Nottingham Forest last Tuesday.
Lambert said of Costa: "Hopefully he’ll be okay, he’s been a big player for us.
"You can’t risk him, he’s one of those kids that at 100 per cent he’s bang on it and ready for it."
Of Ikeme, Lambert added: "Carl will struggle again. It’s not moving as much as we thought it would be.
"It’s slow at the minute. But I’m more than happy with Andy, I think he’s done really well for us, he made a great save on Saturday (against Bristol City).
"Losing Carl is a blow because he’s been excellent for us, but we can’t speed it up then we can’t speed it up."
Wolves' injury list has eased of late with Michal Zyro, Jordan Graham and Silvio all returning to action for the under-23s on Monday night.
Joe Mason and Connor Ronan remain their only other absentees with hernia and back injuries respectively.
